Breakwater Band

Long baguettes laid flat between pairs of round stones, repeating all the way around — the rhythm of a breakwater, block and gap and block again, holding a line against the water. The two cuts do different things with light: the baguettes give broad, still flashes across their flat tables, the rounds break it into points. Alternating them keeps the band from reading as one continuous glitter. Every stone is claw-set on an open gallery, in 18K gold plated sterling silver. Architectural enough to wear on its own, and a good counterweight to a round solitaire.
